The Standard Female Wellness Panel is a foundational test used to evaluate a woman’s overall health. When done annually, this test helps doctors and their patients identify trends that may indicate an increased risk of developing certain conditions. For example, increasing A1C levels across subsequent tests may indicate prediabetes or early signs of diabetes.

What Does the Standard Female Wellness Panel Include?

The Standard Female Wellness Panel includes the following tests:

  • Lipid and Cholesterol Panel: Measures lipid and cholesterol levels in the blood to evaluate the risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
  • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP): Measures substances like proteins and enzymes in the blood to analyze how well the body’s metabolic process is working.
  • Routine Urinalysis: Tests the urine for abnormal substances, like certain proteins and glucose (sugar) to catch early signs of conditions like diabetes. Positive results are confirmed by a laboratory technician using microscopic evaluation.
  • Complete Blood Count (CBC) With Differential: Counts and evaluates the health of the three types of cells found in the blood (red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets).
  • Thyroid Panel With Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH): Measures thyroid hormones in the blood to assess how well the thyroid is working.
  • Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT) Test: Also called the serum glutamic-pyruvic transaminase (SGPT) test. Measures the amount of ALT in the bloodstream to check for liver damage.
  • Hemoglobin A1C Test: Also called the HbA1C or glycohemoglobin test. Measures the average amount of glucose (sugar) in the blood in the past 8 to 12 weeks to detect early signs of diabetes or to monitor a previous diagnosis of diabetes.
  • High Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (CRP) Test: Measures the amount of CRP protein in the blood to identify inflammation in the body. This test may be used to diagnose and/or monitor certain conditions, like rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease, and can also be used to assess the risk of developing coronary artery disease.

Standard Plus Female Wellness Panel Vs. Standard Female Wellness Panel

An imbalance in these hormones can interrupt reproductive health.

Why Is It Important for Women to Take This Test?

The Standard Female Wellness Panel, when completed annually, can be used by your doctor to monitor a previously diagnosed condition or to check for early signs of conditions like diabetes or hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid). This test can also be used to monitor how certain medications and/or lifestyle choices, like exercise, impact one’s health.

Any woman who wants to monitor her overall health should consider the Standard female Wellness Panel. This test may have the greatest benefit for women under the age of 40 who do not have signs and symptoms of a hormone imbalance relating to estrogen or FSH.

How to Prepare for this Test?

The Standard Female Wellness Panel requires both a blood sample and a urine sample. Fasting is required for this test—do not eat or drink anything (except for water) 9 to 12 hours prior to the test. The Standard Female Wellness Panel includes a Thyroid Panel that uses biotin technology. Patients who are currently taking biotin (vitamin B7) supplements or supplements containing biotin should refrain from taking them for at least 48 hours before testing to avoid false results.

To order the Standard Female Wellness Panel, purchase your test on our website and take your lab requisition form to a certified laboratory. You can find a laboratory location that’s most convenient for you by using our lab locator. Simply walk into the lab during their business hours to have your samples collected—it’s not necessary to make an appointment. The results of your Standard Female Wellness Panel will arrive in your HealthLabs.com account within one to three business days.
